Job Description
Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance & Grounds Person to join our team. The hours vary from week to week and tend to decrease in the winter months of Dec-Feb. Typically, we have 6-16 hours/wk of work per week on Saturday and/or Sunday (open to coming in after we close at 5:30pm M-F as well to work on tasks). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our facilities, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks to maintain a healthy and comfortable environment indoors & outdoors for our children and staff.
**If you would like more hours and are interested, we can add our lawn care duties to this job as well. This would be from May-October and include lawn mowing, weed whacking, debris burning, leaf blowing, weeding front sidewalk, cutting down small weed trees, cleaning up fence lines, bush trimming, watering back gardens & bushes, trips to haul leaves to compost site, etc.). This would add approximately 4-8 hours additional hours each week on top of any maintenance hours earned.**
Duties - Conduct regular inspections (fence, chipping paint, loose screws, appliances in working order, windows, doors, etc.)
- Preventative maintenance tasks (i.e. cleaning gutters, cleaning dryer vents, cleaning A/C units, cleaning outdoor light fixtures, etc.)
- Carpentry projects as needed (drywall installation/patching, mudding, construction of wooden items for play areas, etc.)
- Assist with repairs and maintenance of indoor & outdoor equipment and furniture (including toys, furniture, play ground structures, windows, doors, etc.)
- Clean up garbage in front of building and yards
- Painting or staining (classrooms, outdoor playground items, building, fences, etc.)
- Power washing building/fences
- Maintain property safety
- Spraying wasps nests outside
- This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary and per season
Requirements - Basic knowledge of common building systems, including plumbing, boiler heating, and electrical systems, is essential.

- Ability to pass a background check
- Own most tools (we do have a weed whacker, push mower, and some other smaller tools--yet do not have most of the larger power tools)
- Proficient in English
