Position:Civil/Structural Engineer
Location:Mobile, AL area
Shift:40 hours/week (OT may be required)
Job Details- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a recognized accredited program (ABET) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years relevant work experience.
- Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) preferred.
- Prior experience as a Project Manager on single discipline projects preferred.
- Prior experience as a CSA lead on major capital projects is preferred.
- Has the ability to supervise engineering staff on industrial projects that range from small to large capital size projects.
- Ability to assemble and review bid packages for civil/structural work scopes.
- Familiar with applicable engineering codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, etc.) required
- Experience with civil/structural analysis software (Risa 3D & Risa Foundation preferred).
- Must be proficient with CAD software and Microsoft Office.
- Has the ability to produce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs suitable for the level of the estimate being performed on a project.
- Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies as necessary to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to solving engineering tasks.
- Independently applies knowledge and continuously develop company quality program for CSA department.
- Establishes related processes and promotes a culture that is conducive to quality.
- Provides guidance and direction to others and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Must be able to perform field work to gather relevant project data and provide construction support as required.
- Has the knowledge and experience to check calculations made by other engineers to ensure code and specification conformance and good engineering practice.
Note- Must have the capability of working from home as well as in the office (mobile).
- Willing and able to travel as needed for project support
