Cooking Activity Specialist

Elmwood Day Camp – White Plains, NY

Elmwood Day Camp is looking for an enthusiastic Cooking Activity Specialist to bring creativity, confidence, and fun into our culinary program this summer!

Our cooking activity is a camper favorite—hands-on, engaging, and rooted in learning through doing. We’re seeking someone who loves working with children and can turn simple recipes into meaningful, joy-filled experiences.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead age-appropriate cooking activities for campers ages 3–11
• Teach basic cooking skills, kitchen safety, and food awareness
• Create a positive, inclusive environment where campers feel confident trying new things
• Prepare materials, guide small groups, and manage clean-up
• Collaborate with camp leadership and fellow specialists to support a well-rounded camp day

Who You Are:

• Comfortable and confident in the kitchen (formal culinary training not required)
• Great with kids—patient, warm, and engaging
• Organized, responsible, and safety-minded
• Able to follow allergy-aware protocols and camp guidelines
• Excited to be part of a joyful, mission-driven camp community
