Job Title

The Division of Neurosurgery is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Physician Assistant alongside two surgeons and one additional PA or Nurse Practitioner .

Description

Bassett Medical Center is a regional trauma center located in Cooperstown, New York. It is a 180-bed, acute care inpatient teaching hospital that also offers 24-hour emergency and trauma care, critical care, comprehensive cancer and heart care, dialysis, and most medical and surgical specialties. The Physician’s Assistant will:

Job Description & Responsibilities

1. Join an established group of 2 Surgeons and 1 Advanced Practice Clinician or Nurse Practitioner.
2. Responsibilities include clinics where you will see new and established patients, post-op visits, telemedicine, floor management of post-op patients, and first assisting in the OR.
3. No Neurosurgery call – General Surgical call is optional
4. No current residents on the Neurosurgery team - Bassett Medical Center have a strong relationship with the University of Rochester Medical Center and Columbia University for teaching, education, and resident involvement.
5. Previous surgical experience preferred but not essential
6. Salary Range: $122,086 - $150,000 . This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good-faith belief in the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, starting with competitive base pay which includes recognition of your experience, education, training and licensure. On-call is not a requirement. However, if you decide to opt-in, there is the potential for additional compensation.
7. Sign-on Bonus up to $50,000
8. Hours include, but not limited to: clinic hours typically run from 8:00-4:30, and OR days are variable with two-to-three occurrences per week.

Job Qualifications

1. National Certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
2. NYS Licensure
3. BLS Certification Required
4. DEA Required
