Job Purpose:

This role will create and implement publicity strategy and campaigns for BritBox originals and acquisitions, driving awareness and interest in our titles and company initiatives and supporting on domestic awards strategy for select series.

This ideal candidate has extensive experience in television/film lifecycle public relations, either in-house or in an agency. They will play an integral part in creating exceptional messaging to generate positive coverage across a broad variety of earned media and influencer outlets.

This role can interface with senior executives, journalists, talent/talent teams, vendors, international counterparts and distributors, and key stakeholders with a high-degree of professionalism. They thrive working in a fast-paced environment, and are able to multi-task and prioritize while maintaining an obsessive level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Support PR planning and execution for series campaigns with little supervision, stepping into a leadership role when needed, and incorporating awards considerations, press opportunities, and timelines throughout the series lifecycle.

  • Work with the Director and SVP of Publicity and Communications, helping to deliver on campaigns for large, tentpole titles whilst working on the broad slate of series, requiring the ability to prioritize, delegate and balance separate workloads.

  • Continually expand on conventional publicity opportunities, focusing on bigger ideas which will cut through a crowded marketplace and highlight our niche programming.

  • Work with the larger publicity team to build and strengthen talent relationships for BritBox, collaborating on series PR efforts, with flexibility for periodic UK-based support.

  • Execute media and talent relations efforts for press days and special events, such as junkets, red carpet premieres, awards ceremonies and special screenings.

  • Skilled in supporting events - from planning to on-site coordination - and in generating creative ideas for promotional mailers.

  • Write pitches, press releases, and other written materials for key titles, adapting UK press materials when applicable for US press & audiences.

  • Oversee workflow for updating press releases and asset addition to media site.

  • Develop and maintain a deep network of press, talent and influencer relationships across trade and consumer entertainment press outlets, as well as key award pundits and bodies.

  • Manage publicity budgets and vendor relationships, working with finance and legal teams to ensure effective allocation and cost management

Knowledge and Experience

  • BritBox is looking for a candidate who is hugely creative, embraces constant change and has demonstrable experience in film and television launches.

  • Have excellent digital (online/podcast), broadcast, and print contacts with a track record of delivering press coverage, as well as key awards bodies. An understanding of the UK media landscape is ideal.

  • Deeply passionate about television and entertainment a must; bonus points for loving British programming.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, with strong decision-making & problem solving skills. 

  • Works cross-functionally, keeping key stakeholders informed and consulted across the U.S., Canada, and UK

  • A savvy team-player with high EQ: curious, calm under pressure, cooperative, and humble.

  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills 

  • Well-versed in social media with understanding of key platforms and trends

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and project management skills with an obsessive attention to detail.

  • Has a knack for reading the room, sparking creativity, and spotting relevancy and new trends in culture.

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Masters/ Graduate degree is desirable not essential.

Salary Range: $115k-120k base salary + competitive benefits + bonus potential
