Temporary Medical Records Director to support our skilled nursing facility during a transition period. This essential role helps ensure accurate, compliant, and confidential management of resident medical records while maintaining the smooth flow of information across departments.

Key Responsibilities - Oversee daily operations of the medical records department
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident charts in accordance with state, federal, and CMS regulations
- Ensure timely documentation, filing, scanning, and electronic record maintenance
- Collaborate with nursing, admissions, and interdisciplinary teams to obtain and update required documentation
- Prepare records for audits, surveys, and QA reviews
- Support record transitions during staffing changes or process updates
- Prepare discharge packets and manage record retrieval
- Uphold strict HIPAA standards and maintain all confidentiality protocols
Qualifications - Experience in medical records, health information management, or related role in a Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care facility (required)
- Working knowledge of CMS regulations, survey expectations, and medical documentation standards
- Strong organizational skills and outstanding attention to detail
- Proficiency with EMR systems (PointClickCare preferred)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments
- Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
